     Hey everyone how's it going? I joined the Scream Jam and am making a game called Mad Lab, here's the synopsis:

You are a recently hired assistant to the infamous Dr. Rilez, you don't know what could have happened to the last assistant... but anyway, your boss has somehow learned to make life from clay and herbs, but no matter what, his creations always escape! They start off small and some even could be considered cute, like the silk tomato, but each of Dr. Rilez 'experiments' gets bigger, meaner, and uglier! And now the bigger ones are headded towards town, which would invoke a good 'ol fashioned witch hunt to the Doctor's lab. To prevent that, with only an upgradeable energy net you made, it's up to you to find the escapees, some of which you may be able to be friend, and put them in the master monster tank before to many reach town and arouse suspicion to the towns folk.


12/15/2023:

Today I worked on Monster Memory.  Now during regular gameplay the monster stays in whatever screen he was in when you left that screen, (he will stay there  until you come back), or if the monster goes tp the next screen by himself, he will stay there until you get there.  

You can also now go all the way to the town and not lose the game, unless of course the monster beat you there and is burning down the town.

also I made it so you can't go back to the lab until you've either caught the monster, or are defeated.

The menu is now semi - operational. You can  use it to turn on or off the game music or  game sound, and the quit game button works. You move the pointer with the arrows to what you want to select on the menu, then you can  either left click the mouse, or press enter to perform the selected menu option.

I fixed a few  more bugs and issues today, If you download the game,  make sure to download the newest version, v1.007.

fixed skipping over rooms

fixed if player is defeated the old enemy does not take on the new enemy's stats and image, and retains it's own like it should

fixed game crash  potential from monster burning down town


12/13/2023:

I have started working on this game again, it has some potential. This latest version fixes many many bugs and issues. The game is playably complete, but there are still quite a few things I want to change and / or fix, starting next with adding borders so you can't just run over every obstacle. If you download the game,  make sure to download the newest version, v1.006.

10/22/2023/5:00pm: Added an updated game build and updated the game info. Still a long way to go and only 11 hours left, at least there's music now and the game starts in the lab where it should., All character and 95% of the game graphics are done.


I have been streaming live game coding, with all it's frustrations and triumphs, 3 hrs a day on twitch at: (todays video, but that gets you to my twitch channel to watch upcoming streams (12 - 3pm Eastern  until wednesday, except not on Saturday or Sunday.)
